Tools and Info to Support Remote Teaching

Basic Remote Teaching Tools:

  • Please plan ahead! 
  • See the instructions for Remote Teaching at MLML Using Zoom in the Knowledge Base
  • Use Moodle/Populi/Google Drive to share slides, videos, etc. 
  • Use Moodle/Populi/Google forms for quizzes

Moving Beyond the Basics:

  • Please plan ahead! - You Plan what you want to do and please submit an IT Help Desk Ticket to ask for IT support
  • Read this: SJSU Remote Teaching Options - Lots of good stuff here, including teaching tools, FAQs and best practices, video tutorials and links to how-to webinars, and information about how you can book appointments with SJSU for one-on-one help
  • Canvas is a little more robust than Moodle. You can fill out this Custom Student Request to have your non-SJSU students added.
  • Consider sending a survey to ask your students what works/doesn’t work for them
  • Pre-record lectures with Camtasia (better quality than Zoom)
    • Good option for pre-recorded videos
    • Get a license and info on how to get started here
