Transferring Media and Clearing SD Cards

After using any of IT's cameras for recording class content it is important to transfer the media to your personal computer and clear the SD card for future users.


Panasonic LUMIX GH5

For Windows:Windows 10:

  1. Connect your computer to the camera using the supplied USB cable.
  2. OpenThe camera's display will prompt you to choose a USB mode. Select ComputerPictBridge(PTP).
  3. Locate the LUMIX folder
  4. Open the DCIMFile Explorer folderapplication and navigate to This PC on your computer.
  5. Drag and drop all files withinOpen the DC-GH5 folder.
  6. Copy the DCIM folder onto your desktop.Desktop (or wherever else you would like).
  7. Once the media is copied to your computer, disconnectunplug the camera andfrom the computer.
  8. Delete media from the camera.
    1. Enter Playback Mode
      1. Press MenuMenu/Set > Screen-Shot-2020-08-18-at-1.30.35-PM.png
    2. Press the trash can icon
    3. Select Delete All and press Menu/Set

For Mac:

  1. Connect your computer to the camera using the supplied USB cablecable.
  2. OpenThe camera's display will prompt you to choose a USB mode. Select FinderPictBridge(PTP).
  3. Locate the LUMIX folder
  4. Open the DCIMImage Capture folderapplication on your computer.
  5. DragSelect DC-GH5 andunder dropDevices.
  6. all
  7. Set Import filesTo withinto the DCIMPictures folder onto(or wherever else you would like).
    • We recommend selecting Make subfolders per camera from the same list in order to avoid cluttering your desktop.destination folder.
  8. Click Import All.
  9. Once the media is copied to your computer, disconnectunplug the camera andfrom the computer.
  10. Delete media from the camera
    1. Enter Playback Mode
      1. Press Menu > Screen-Shot-2020-08-18-at-1.30.35-PM.png
    2. Press the trash can icon
    3. Select Delete All and press Menu/Set

GoPro HERO7

For Windows and Mac:

  1. Download and install the Quik desktop app
  2. Connect the GoPro to your computer using the provided USB-C cable
  3. Power on the GoPro and follow the on-screen instructions in the Quik App
  4. Once the media is copied to your computer, disconnect the camera and computer.
  5. Delete media from the camera
    1. Power on the camera and swipe up on the touch screen to enter playback mode
    2. Tap the set of squares in the upper left corner
    3. Tap the checkbox in the upper left corner
    4. Tap all the files
    5. Tap the garbage can to delete all files

Insta360 ONE X

For Windows and Mac:

  1. Connect the Insta360 ONE X to your computer using the provided USB cable
  2. Open Finder or Computer and locate the Insta360 file
  3. Drag and drop video and image files onto your desktop
  4. Once the media is copied to your computer, delete all files from the Insta360 file to clear the SD card.
