Scan a Document Using the Kyocera Copiers



The Kyocera copiers in the Library and the Admin Copy room can scan documents directly to your MLML email address.

NOTE: All of these instructions are posted for your convenience on the board next to the admin and library copiers.

 

Step 1 - Scan your document:


1a) Scan a single page document:
  1. Start by pressing the "Send" button. Enter the Copy Code when prompted:
    • Library Copier: 1220
    • Admin Copier: 2232
  2. Insert the document into the document feeder or place it onto the glass.
  3. Press the "Address Book" Button (in the upper-right corner of the touch screen). Browse to the address book entry for the desired recipient and check the checkbox next to their name, then tap OK. If your name is not listed in the address book, you can add it as described in this KB post: Create a scan to email account on the Kyocera copiers
  4. Configure the scanner settings (if necessary):
    (The default settings should work for most black & white documents.)
    • Color or B&W - The default setting is black and white, but you can scan in color.
    • Resolution - Change the resolution of the scan (higher res provides more detail, lower res means smaller file sizes).
    • Density - Make the scanned document lighter or darker (good for signatures and handwriting).
    • File Type - PDF (default), TIFF, JPG (PDF is best for documents, images should be TIFF or JPG)
  5. Press the "Start" button
  6. Once the scan is completed press "Finished Scan"
1b) Scan a multi-page document:
  1. Follow steps 1-4 from the directions above, before you press "Start" proceed as follows. . .
  2. Select “Advanced” tab
  3. Select “Continuous scanning”
  4. Select “On”
  5. Select “OK”
  6. Press the "Start" button to scan document
  7. Once the scan is complete press "Finished Scan"

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the copier beeps and/or displays an error code, it is likely that your address book entry in the scanner is not correct. If so, please verify that the email address in your address book entry is correct.
